How Segno expects to collect, use, protect, and delete information. This is a launch-readiness draft, not final legal copy.
Draft operational copy. Founder and attorney review is required before public launch or external app review.
What Segno collects
Segno may collect account details, workspace details, creator setup information, student progress records, proof submissions, support requests, connection status, and product usage information needed to operate the service.
If a creator connects an approved service, Segno may store connection status and selected evidence needed for that workflow. Sensitive connection details must stay server-side.
How Segno uses information
Segno uses information to provide the product, show student progress, route proof and output work, support users, protect accounts, and improve reliability.
Segno should not sell student proof, private creator data, or connected-service data. Any marketing or testimonial use should follow the release and consent state shown in the product.
Sharing and access
Access is scoped by role and workspace. Creators, students, editors, sales users, and internal operators should only see information needed for their role.
Segno may use trusted service partners to host, secure, or operate the product. Those partners should only receive the information needed to perform their service.
Connected features such as YouTube, Google Drive, Frame.io, Meta, and TikTok should use only the permissions needed for the approved workflow and should not expose private connected-service data to unrelated roles or workspaces.
Retention and deletion
Segno keeps information while it is needed to operate the product, support the workspace, meet security needs, or preserve required business records.
Deletion requests can be started from the data deletion page. Some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or security reasons.
Review status
This page is an operational draft. It should be reviewed by Segno leadership and legal counsel before public launch, external app review, or broad self-serve beta.
